Experience of navigation department on reading lectures on special discipline in English

In the paper importance of the knowledge of the (American) English language has been declared. It is shown English is a part of the new educational technologies of the new age. Then the experience of the Navigational Department in this direction has been described. The lectures of Celestial Navigation have been delivered in English for the four consequent academic years since 1995/1996. The special simultaneous method of "Eye-Ear" is used. The test-book and the special concise dictionary on Navigation and Mathematics are issued as the methodical base of the process. The results of the experiment can be considered as successful.

Experimental determination of astronomical observation accuracy by two stars using the method of lines of position

In the paper two variants of scaling of functional duties space in the system "Navigator – EMNIS" have been considered. The variants are to solve some tasks of safety navigation management.

On application of modern computer technologies for celestial fixes

The experimental data – results of carried out astronomical fixes by two stars – have been analysed in this paper. The main aim is to obtain real error when 95 % accuracy estimation has being used. All observations have been cultivated by the method of Lines of Position (LOP). The actual aspects of Celestial Navigation have been considered. The authors have proposed perspective ways in the research of the Celestial Fixes.
